#1
With the increasing demand of the SD card and the ever increasing need for more storage capacity for SD cards has caused the SD association to come with an SDHC card, an acronym for Secure Digital High Capacity. SDHC cards are available with a higher storage capacity than ever before. All the SD cards that are available in the market with storage capacity more than 4 GB is an SDHC card. The storage capacity for SDHC cards goes up to 32 GB.

The evolution of latest digital cameras and other devices demands large storage capacity for superior performance. This high capacity of SDHC cards also allows for high quality data. All new devices that are introduced in the market are compatible with SDHC cards which show the increasing market trend towards the SDHC. The main reason for high storage is today's demand of high-definition video and high-resolution digital photography.

As SDHC is the latest technology, one problem is that SDHC is not compatible with some of the previous devices. So before getting a SDHC card one must ensure that it is compatible with the device which can be checked through the device manual or the SDHC logo on the packaging. All the SDHC enabled products can easily use the SDHCcard without any apparent problems. SDHC enabled products are also backward compatible with all the SD cards. If your device has a firmware upgrade and is not SDHC enabled, SDHCcards will still work on those devices.

Like the standard SD card, the standard sized SDHCcard has a write protect switch tab, protecting your data. SDHC cards come in different sizes and are called miniSDHC and microSDHC. These are similar to miniSD and microSD card except for higher storage capacity. The price for SD cards depends on the storage capacity and the type of SDHCcard.
